Free Stuff - useful programs, resources and information available without charge

There’s a surprising amount of good quality material to help you with your websites that’s available at no cost. I’ll be expanding this list as I find new items, so do check back from time to time.

And, if you come across any free programs that you like, please do let me know about them.

PageBreeze - A simple HTML editing program that you can download from www.pagebreeze.com

Blogging Solutions - if you want to create a blog you can sign up for a free account at either blogger.com or wordpress.com - these are both “hosted solutions” so you don’t need to arrange your own webhosting. You just log into your account and add posts to your blog. The disadvantage is that the name of the site will be a sub-domain of their site - something like “yourname.blogspot.com”.

If you want a blog which has a domain name of your own choosing, you can get the software that runs wordpress from wordpress.org - again its available free of charge. It’s Open Source software, which means that a large number of editors have contributed to its development, so there are lots of people offering all kinds of support. There are also lots of additional products that work with it.
